Henry of Blois

Henry of Blois (died 1171)

Brother of King Stephen of England, he was bishop of Winchester from 1129, and Pope Innocent II's legate to England from 1139.

While remaining loyal to Henry II, he tried to effect a compromise between Becket and the king.
