Herres, Robert Tralles

Herres, Robert Tralles (1932– )

US aviator. A 1954 Naval Academy graduate, he transferred to the Air Force and served in Germany, France, and Thailand. In the 1970s he directed the Strategic Air Command's command and control centre and the Air Force Communications Command. After three years as head of the Air Force Space Command, he became vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in 1987. Herres was born in Denver, Colorado.
