Herrington, John Bennett (1958– )

US astronaut. A mission specialist, he was on the Endeavour flight in November 2002 to the International Space Station to exchange resident crews, and he installed the P1 Truss on three space walks taking nearly 20 hours. He went on to be a member of NASA's astronaut support personnel team that is responsible for space shuttle launch preparations and post-landing operations. Herrington was selected as an astronaut in 1996.
