Hershey

Unincorporated village in Dauphin County, southeastern Pennsylvania, 24 km/15 mi east of Harrisburg; population (2000 est) 12,800. Founded in 1903, the town was developed privately as a workers' community by the Hershey Foods concern, which remains its main employer.

In addition to manufacturing its chocolate and cocoa products, the Hershey company runs the ‘Hersheypark’ theme park. The ZooAmerica zoo and park is also popular, and many tourists come here to enjoy these attractions, along with the Hershey Museum, which displays Pennsylvania Dutch artefacts and other interesting exhibits from the locality.
