Hesychius (lived 5th century AD)

Greek lexicographer. His lexicon of Greek words and phrases, using Aristarchus of Samothrace, with explanations of customs and usages, remains of great value, especially in regard to rare words used by writers such as Aeschylus, and for the Greek dialects, although only an abridged and much interpolated text survives.
