Heterodontus

Heterodontus

Genus of bullhead shark. They are found in the Pacific Ocean and are bottom dwellers, found in depths up to 180 m/590 ft. They can be up to 1.5 m/5 ft in length. The Port Jackson shark H. portusjacksoni is an example.

Classification

Heterodontus is in the family Heterodontidae, order Heterodontiformes, subclass Elasmobranchii, class Chondrichthyes.
