Hewitt, Jennifer Love (1979– )

US actor. She began acting on television as a young child and became one of the most popular teen film actors during the 1990s. Known for her exuberance and pluck, she achieved her breakthrough role in the horror film I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997).

Hewitt starred in the television teen drama series Party of Five (1995–99), which helped launch her film career. Other films include the Whoopi Goldberg comedy Sister Act II: Back in the Habit (1993), the horror sequel I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (1998), the teen romance Can't Hardly Wait (1998), the comedy adventure Heartbreakers opposite Sigourney Weaver (2001), and the successful comic-strip adaptation Garfield (2004). She was acclaimed for the title role in the television biopic The Audrey Hepburn Story (2000).

She was born and grew up in Waco, Texas, where she took dancing and singing lessons from a young age. After touring internationally with the Texas Show Team, she moved to Los Angeles, California, at the age of ten to pursue her performing career. She starred on the Disney series Kids Incorporated (1989–91) and in the sitcom In the Game (2004– ).
