Hewitt, Lleyton Glynn (1981– )| Australian tennis player. Despite his relatively small size, his speed around the court, powerful groundstrokes, and fiercely competitive nature allow him to dominate opponents. He turned professional in 1998 and quickly made his way to the top of the world rankings, finishing 2001 and 2002 as the Champions Race leader. He won the US Open men's doubles title with Max Mirnyi of Belarus in 2000 and the following year won the singles title at the same event. He was part of the victorious Australian Davis Cup team in 1999 and 2003 and was runner-up in 2000 and 2001. He won the men's singles title at Wimbledon in 2002. |
