Higgins, John (1975– )

Scottish snooker player. He won the 1998 World Championship and again in 2007. Since turning professional in 1992, he has won more than 15 ranking tournaments.

In the 1994–95 season, Higgins became the first teenager to win three ranking tournaments in one season. He reached the top of the world rankings in 1998 after his win in the World Championships, beating Ken Doherty in the final 18–12. He is one of only three players to have held the World, UK, and Masters titles at the same time. In December 2000, he won his second UK title in three years.
