Hightstown

Borough in Mercer County, west-central New Jersey; population (1990) 5,100. Hightstown is sited 18 km/11 mi northeast of Trenton, and just west of the New Jersey Turnpike. The area was first settled in 1721, and is now a trading centre for local market gardens and the site of some light industry. Peddie School (founded 1864) is situated here.
