Hillis, Margaret (1921- )

US choral conductor. A student of Robert Shaw at the Juilliard School, New York, she is best known for organizing the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Chorus from 1957 and building it into a major ensemble. She also conducted opera and orchestras.

Hillis was born in Kokomo, Indiana.
