| The west of the Hillsborough County is dominated by Tampa and the bays, with shipping, some industry and business, tourism, fishing, and shrimping all being important economic activities. The remainder is largely agricultural, including its only other large municipality, Plant City (in the northeast). Farm produce includes citrus fruits, berries and vegetables, dairy goods, and poultry. The county contains numerous lakes, and there is some forestry and phosphate mining, particularly in the north. |
