Hilton, Paris (1981– )

US socialite, model, and singer, great-granddaughter of the Hilton hotel chain founder, Conrad Hilton. She became notorious for her wild party antics before starring in the popular reality TV show The Simple Life (2003), which depicted her coping with life on a farm and other situations.

She has appeared in small roles in several films, including the romantic comedy Wishman (1991), the comedy Zoolander (2001), the thriller Nine Lives (2002), the crime drama Wonderland (2003), Dr Seuss's children's tale The Cat in the Hat (2003), the comedies The Hillz and Raising Helen (both 2004), and the horror remake House of Wax (2005). She has also appeared on popular US television series including Las Vegas and The OC. She released her self-titled debut album in 2006.

She grew up in Hilton properties across the country, including the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City, as well as in Beverly Hills, California, and the Hamptons, New York. She modelled for several magazines, including GQ and Vanity Fair, during the late 1990s. She and her sister Nicky (1983– ) have become well-known in Japan for their handbag collection for the Tokyo-based fashion label Samantha Thavasa.
