Opera in one act by Paul Hindemith (libretto by M Schiffer after an English revue), first produced in Baden-Baden, Germany, on 17 July 1927. The plot, concerning a jealous husband, goes into reverse at half way. At the first performance the part of the errant, palindromic wife was sung by Otto Klemperer's wife, Johanna.
