Hispanic

Spanish-speaking person in the USA, especially of Latin American descent, either native-born or immigrant from Mexico, Cuba, Puerto Rico, or any other Spanish-speaking country.

The largest Hispanic populations in the USA by states in 1998 were California with 9.9 million, Texas with 5.7 million, New York with 2.6 million, Florida with 2.1 million, and Illinois with 1.2 million.
