hispanidad

Set of values and attitudes emphasizing the common bonds (blood, language, and culture) between Spain and Spanish-speaking nations.

It was championed by Mexican philosopher and educationalist José Vasconcelos (1881-1958) who stressed the significance to Latin America of Catholicism and the region's Hispanic past.
