Hoare, Richard (1758–1838)
| British pioneer field archaeologist. He collaborated with William Cunnington (1754–1810) in the investigation and recording of 379 barrows (burial mounds) in Wiltshire, England, most of them on Salisbury Plain. Their findings are described in his The History of Wiltshire 1812–21. |
