horehound

Any of a group of plants belonging to the mint family. The white horehound (M. vulgare), found in Europe, North Africa, and western Asia and naturalized in North America, has a thick hairy stem and clusters of dull white flowers; it has medicinal uses. (Genus Marrubium, family Labiatae.)
