Høffding, (Nils) Finn (1899-1997)

Danish composer. He was a pupil of Jeppesen in Copenhagen and of Joseph Marx in Vienna. In 1931 he was appointed professor at the Royal Danish Conservatory, where he started the Copenhagen Folk Music School with Jørgen Bentzon. He was the author of several theoretical books.

Works

operas The Emperor's New Clothes (after Andersen, 1928), etc.; four symphonies (one with chorus); two string quartets (1920, 1925), duet for oboe and clarinet; piano pieces; songs.
