Hoge, Mrs A(braham) H(olmes) (1811–1890)

US relief, welfare, and charity worker. During the US Civil War she and Mary Livermore directed the Chicago branch of the Sanitary Commission, coordinating 1,000 local aid societies, improving field distribution of supplies, and raising funds through extensive lecture tours and the great Chicago Sanitary Fair of 1863.

She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
