Holloway, David (1942– )

US baritone. He studied in Rome and made his debut in Kansas City in 1968, as Belcore. He was Billy Budd at Chicago in 1970, Guglielmo with the New York City Opera in 1972, and appeared at the New York Metropolitan Opera House from 1973, as Sharpless, Lescaut, and Guglielmo. In 1985 he performed at Glyndebourne, as Escamillo. His other roles include Mozart's Count and Papageno, Dandini, and Nick Shadow.
