Holt

Market town in northern Norfolk, England, 14 km/9 mi southwest of Cromer; population (2001) 3,550. Gresham's School in Holt was established in 1548 by the Fishmongers' Company. It was one of several schools in England that were founded in the 16th century on endowments by societies of merchants.

Holt

Unincorporated village in Ingham County, south-central Michigan, a residential suburb 10 km/6 mi south of Lansing; population (1990) 11,700. Holt lies in an agricultural area that produces poultry, grain, livestock, and dairy goods.
