wireless LAN

Type of local area network that allows wireless-enabled laptop computers and personal digital assistants to connect to the Internet. ‘Hot spots’ for wireless access are being increasingly established in public areas such as Internet cafes, airport lounges, hotel lobbies, shopping malls, and exhibition halls.
