Residential neighbourhood in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, north of Wilkinsburg and 10 km/6 mi northeast of the ‘Golden Triangle’ (the central business district). Home to Irish immigrants and Black settlers in the 19th century, it experienced severe social and economic decline after World War II.

Relocation that displaced Lower Hill residents in the 1950s initially brought severe overcrowding to Homewood; eventually, as housing conditions became worse, the area was depopulated, and houses were abandoned and demolished. However, urban regeneration programmes and new construction projects have been implemented here in recent years. The community is central to the writings of John Edgar Wideman.
