Hopkins, Bill (1943–1981)

English composer and writer on music. He studied with Nono (at Dartington), Wellesz, and Messiaen. His music was also influenced by Boulez and Barraqué. WORK: Sous-structures, for piano (1964), Two Pomes for soprano and ensemble (after Joyce, 1964), Musique de l'indifférence, ballet after Beckett (1965), Études en série, piano pieces in three books (1965–72), En attendant, for ensemble (1977).
