Horn, Karl Friedrich (1762-1830)

German organist and composer, and the father of Charles Edward Horn. He was a pupil of C G Schröter, and settled in England in 1782, where under the patronage of Count Bruhl he quickly rose to become music teacher to Queen Charlotte and her daughters. In 1810, with S Wesley, he published the first English edition of Bach's Wohltemperierte Clavier/The Well-Tempered Clavier. He was appointed organist of St George's Chapel in Windsor in 1824.
