Horne, David

Horne, David (1970– )

Scottish pianist and composer. He studied in Edinburgh and at the Curtis Institute, Philadelphia (1989), and Harvard in the USA. He has won prizes at the Huddersfield Festival, as composer, and British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Young Musician of the Year (piano section). He has performed as soloist with the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, London Sinfonietta, and Scottish National Orchestra, and performed Prokofiev's Third Concerto at the 1990 Proms in London.

Light Emerging (1989), Northscape for chamber orchestra (1992), piano concerto (1992).

Chamber

string quartet (1988), Splintered Unisons and Towards Dharma for ensemble (1988–89).
