Horsham

Town in Victoria, Australia, approximately 300 km/186 mi northwest of Melbourne; population (1996) 12,919. Horsham is situated on the River Wimmera and is the centre of Victoria's largest wheat-growing area. Livestock farming is also important, and high-quality fine wool is produced by Horsham's wool factory. Other industries include flour-milling and the manufacture of agricultural and textile machinery and clothing. To the west of Horsham is Mount Arapiles, a popular climbing spot.
