Howarth, Judith (1962– )

English soprano. She studied at the Royal Scottish Academy and sang Mozart arias with the English Chamber Orchestra in 1984, and at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London, from 1985, in Zemlinsky's Der Zwerg and as Siebel, Oscar, Elvira in L'Italiana in Algeri, Iris in Semele, and Morgana in Alcina (1992). She has made appearances for Opera North and Scottish Opera, as Susanna and Zerlina. In 1991 she performed at the Salzburg Festival in Der Schauspieldirektor. Her US debut was in Seattle in 1989, in concert with Domingo. She sang Walton's Cressida at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, in 1995.
