Howze, Hamilton Hawkins

Howze, Hamilton Hawkins (1908–1998)

US aviator who directed the Army Tactical Mobility Board in 1962 that developed a new doctrine of air mobility that US forces tested in Vietnam during the 1960s. After retiring in 1965 he became an executive and later a consultant for the Bell Helicopter Co.

Born in West Point, New York, he was a West Point graduate.
