Huggett, Monica (1953– )

English violinist. She studied with Ton Koopman, and with him co-founded the Amsterdam Baroque Orchestra, which she led 1980–87. She has given many concerts with a gut-string instrument, notably with the Hanover Band (also directing) and the Academy of Ancient Music. In 1991 she played Beethoven's Concerto with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment. She has made recordings with Hausmusik and the Raglan Baroque Players, and played Beethoven symphonies with the Hanover Band.
