Humber Bridge

Suspension bridge with twin towers 163 m/535 ft high, which spans the estuary of the River Humber in northeast England. When completed in 1981, it was the world's longest bridge with a span of 1,410 m/4,628 ft.

Built at a cost of £150 million, toll revenues over the following 15 years proved inadequate to pay even the interest on the debt.
