    0.02 sec.

Hume, Lake

Reservoir in southeast New South Wales, Australia. The Hume Reservoir is on the New South Wales–Victoria border, near Albury-Wodonga, where the River Mitta Mitta joins the Murray River. The water stored in the reservoir supplies a 50 MW hydroelectric station, as well as water for irrigation and individual pumpers across New South Wales and Victoria.

The reservoir stores water which runs off a catchment area of about 15,540 sq km/6,000 sq mi of mountainous country on the border of Victoria and New South Wales. The large volume of water stored in the reservoir ensures an adequate flow of water in the irrigated areas in the lower reaches of the Murray River.
