Hungarian uprising![]() A group of armed Hungarian revolutionaries pose for the camera. These young people, who had known no other regime than the communist one, were fighting in a national uprising against Soviet domination in October 1956. For a few weeks they appeared to be successful, but when Russian planes bombed Budapest and Red Army tanks moved in, the revolution collapsed.
