Hunter, Holly (1958- )

US actor. She has often been cast in roles that contrast her diminutive frame with a larger-than-life, passionate personality. She first came to prominence with Broadcast News and Raising Arizona, both 1987. Her hallmark Southern accent was jettisoned in the virtuoso performance she gave as a mute woman in The Piano (1993).

Her other films include Always (1989), Home for the Holidays (1995), A Life Less Ordinary (1997), Living Out Loud (1998), Jesus' Son (2000), Moonlight Mile (2002), Levity (2003), and Thirteen (2003).
