Husband, Rick Douglas (1957-2003)

US astronaut. He was part of the space shuttle Discovery mission in May 1999 that made the first docking with the International Space Station, delivering supplies in readiness for the arrival of the first resident crew. He was selected as an astronaut in 1994, but died when the space shuttle Columbia broke up on re-entry in February 2003 after a 16-day mission to the International Space Station.
