Hyperborean

In Greek mythology, one of a legendary people closely associated with the cult of Apollo.

According to the historian Herodotus, they sent messengers with offerings to the god's shrine at Delos. When the messengers did not return, they wrapped their offerings in straw and asked their neighbours to hand them to their neighbours, and so on until they reached Delos.
