Inn

River in south-central Europe, tributary of the Danube. Rising in the Engadine in the Swiss Alps, it flows 507 km/317 mi northeast through the Tirol in Austria (passing Innsbruck) and into Bavaria below Kufstein, Germany, where it meets the Danube at Passau. It is used extensively as a source of hydroelectric power.
