International Olympic Committee

Organization responsible for the Olympic Games. It was founded in 1894 by Pierre de Coubertin and owns the legal rights to the Olympic symbols, flag, motto, and anthem. The president of the IOC, from 2001, is Jacques Rogge of Belgium.

The signing ceremony, held at The Banqueting House in London, was hosted by IOC President Jacques Rogge, and Fumio Ohtsubo, President of Matsushita Electric Industrial Co.
She became the first female vice-president of the executive committee in 1997 and is considered a potential IOC president.
IOC President Jacques Rogge had hoped that the Italian government would impose a moratorium on the anti-doping law during the Games, allowing the IOC to prosecute doping offenses according to the organization's guidelines, which parallel the World Anti-Doping Code.
