Iberville

City in Le Haut-Richelieu County, southern Québec; population (1991) 9,400. Iberville lies on the east bank of the River Richelieu, 37 km/23 mi southeast of Montréal. It is a mainly residential suburb of Saint-Jean-sur Richelieu, which it faces across the river. Local industries include dairy farming and a variety of light manufactures.
