Idaho Falls

City and administrative headquarters of Bonneville County, southeast Idaho, on the Snake River; population (2000) 50,700. It is a shipping centre for an agricultural area producing potatoes and livestock; industries include food processing, vitamins, building materials, and tourism. The waterfalls provide electric power and there is a US Atomic Energy Commission plant nearby.
