gas constant

In physics, the constant R that appears in the equation PV = nRT, which describes how the pressure P, volume V, and temperature T of an ideal gas are related (n is the amount of gas in moles). This equation combines Boyle's law and Charles's law.

R has a value of 8.3145 joules per kelvin per mole.
