Ightham

Village in Kent, England, 6 km/4 mi southeast of Sevenoaks; population (2001) 1,950. Ightham Mote is a moated manor house built in 1340, with later additions. The house is now administered by the National Trust. Ightham also has church dating from the 14th–15th centuries.

Author Diane Janes has researched the subject for her book An Edwardian Murder: Ightham and the Morpeth Train Robbery and will give a talk on the intriguing crime at the Laing Art Gallery in Newcastle this Friday.
