Iguassu

National park in the Misiones province in northern Argentina; area 294 sq km/114 sq mi. It was established as a national park in 1934. Despite pressures for development, the 55,000-hectare park is a natural wonderland of sub-tropical rainforest, with over 2,000 identified plant species, countless insects, 400 bird species, and many rare mammals and reptiles.
