Bramantino (1450-1536)

Italian painter and architect. His religious paintings include the Holy Family and Crucifixion (both Brera, Milan) and the Pietà (Church of San Sepolcro). He was a pupil of Vincenzo Foppa and a follower of Donato Bramante, from whom his name derives.

In 1525 he was made architect and painter to Francesco Sforza II.
