Gudrun

In Norse mythology, the wife of Sigurd and later of Atli. She corresponds to Kriemhild in the Niebelungenlied.

Over the next two centuries, various other historical figures were woven into the story, including Attila the Hun (known in medieval German as Etzel), who died of a hemorrhage on his wedding night, and Ildico, his Teutonic bride.
