Iligan

Capital of Lanao del Norte province on northern Mindanao Island in the Philippines, situated on the southeast shore of Iligan Bay; population (2000) 285,100. Iligan is Mindanao's major industrial city and port, close to the hydroelectric plant at Maria Cristina Falls. It has an integrated steel mill, alloy plants, a tinplate mill, and fertilizer and cement factories.
