| The Coalition of Immokalee Workers (CIW) is demanding that McDonald's and the rest of the fast food industry pay fair wages to farm workers who pick their produce. Lucas Benitez from the Coalition of Immokalee Workers, a community-based organization of farmworkers picking in Florida whose members are predominantly from Mexico, Guatemala and Haiti, adds to another dimension to the impact of NAFTA. Taco Bell was ousted from the campus in October after students took up the cause of the Coalition of Immokalee Workers, which represents Florida tomato pickers. |
