Serono, who makes the disease-modifying drug, Rebif, launched a phase 3 study of oral cladribine, a drug that reduces immune cell levels. The two partners have confirmed that a memory T-cell, a type of immune cell, controls the production of interleukin-4 (IL-4), an in vivo protein that plays a role in allergic reactions. Since then, the scientists have examined the immune cells that swarm to cancer cells injected into the cancer-resistant animals. |
