The load cell simulator is a passive electrical network with connections and impedances representative of most load cells and an output providing a voltage-ratio that is selectable in steps from 0 mV/V to 10 mV/V.
Termination impedances are also more tightly constrained to reduce ringing in the signals that could cause plateaus or bumps in the signal edge, resulting in delayed threshold crossings.
Both systems used optically isolated amplifiers with high common mode rejection, high input impedances, and isolated power supplies.
